Do you know the model name of the PC with the motherboard your thinking you might use?
No but when I get home I'll try to find the brand names of all the parts and post them

thats why you message one of these ebay stores and tell them what you need.
they will build you exactly that and make the sale page for just you.
give em a part list and a price range.
a dvd drive is only like 30 bucks anyways. its not a huge deal
30 bucks is saving me a lot since all I have is saved up birthday money and stuff. I want to use as little of it as possible and still get what I need for gaming with nice graphics

30 bucks can make a pretty big difference when your on a very small budget.

Also, you may be able to steal the wifi card out of the Compaq, and that could save you a few bucks.
The Compaq is so old I don't even know if it would have one. When we used it we never had wifi since we got hi speed or some kind of cable internet. We used to have one for the Acer but it might have broken or something

oh I meant the acer, oops. Well, if it's broken nevermind.

I thought I'd use the wifi card out of an old Compaq for mine, but it was too old. Windows 8 wouldn't support it.

Could I just get like a $10-$20 USB WiFi adapter?

Yes, that's what I ended up buying when I found out the old one didn't work.

A GTX 750 Ti doesn't need any power connectors, and it has amazing performance for whats in that tiny card. Please, do yourself a favor and get one.

Ok, I'll buy one.

K, I'll look at those now
Edit: how's this http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-01G-P4-2751-KR/dp/B00IDG3NDY/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1400008816&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+750+ti

So guys, suggest me some more CPU and graphics cards under $150 each?

2GB GTX 750 Ti is $149.99, get that one. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-3751-KR/dp/B00IDG3PRI

Also, the i3-4130 is $119.99. http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-4130-FCLGA-Processor-BX80646I34130/dp/B00EUUKVXM

Also, if you need a motherboard for the 1150 socket CPU, here's a great budget one for $59.99. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F42Y924/?tag=pcpapi-20 It even has Military Class 4 components so its very high quality.

I also have an old Compaq computer and a crashed Acer we bought in like 2008 (crashed July 2012) so I'm not sure but I guess I could pull something out of those

They're just sitting in the basement

Can I have the rest of what ever is left? I'm serious.

OT:

INTEL!

Lol extra computer parts are always good too have around.

I'm just wondering, what is to compare between AMD and Intel? How is one better than the other?

AMD CPUs might be cheaper, but they consume more power and focus on the amount of cores and clock speed rather than the performance of the cores like Intel.

Intel consumes less power and will save you energy and money spent on things like power bills since they have lower TDPs. Intels are "superior" for those reasons, but not the statistics like clock speed that AMD likes to promote. AMDs are generally hotter CPUs (by average), also.

Damnit, so your keeping it?

I think AMD sounds better because clock speed and stuff like lag reduction (if I ever get decent internet) would be nice. I would probably rather spend less on an AMD CPU and just get another fan if I needed it than spend too much on an Intel. It will depend on the deals I find

Do you want to make an offer?

Also, how much space should I need on my hard drive? I'll probably get an SSD but I don't know how much space. Is 256GBs more than I should need?

You will be spending more on power bills and the extra heat might be bad in the long run, but hey, whatever, you're the consumer. Contrary to popular belief, clock speed isnt the #1 factor in countering lag. If the clock speed is high but the cores dont have good performance, they still wont keep up with an Intel.

Ok, what would you suggest for an Intel CPU?

If you're just doing basic office applications and stuff along with lower end gaming, I dont suggest more than an i3 since the GPU will be doing most of the work (for gaming anyway).

In your <$150 case, I'd still recommend an i3, which the i3-4330 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUUN76U/?tag=pcpapi-20 is about $140 on Amazon.

The i5 however is a better rounded CPU for gaming since it has four cores as opposed to two, but unfortunately the lowest i5 available is about $180. If you can find the money to get this one (the cheapest i5 available on amazon) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CO8T9VC/?tag=pcpapi-20 I'd really really recommend it. i5s have 4 cores as opposed to the i3's two, and they're really power efficient and cool.

You can always upgrade it later anyway.
