you've called the fascist nations national socialists numerous times but they've never said it themselves

TL;DR - Claim a state. Use initial state powers to A. quell public resistance and B. force citizen submission to align to your political party of choice. Conquer territory from other states to try and create a new United States to eventually overthrow Germany/Soviet Union/both.

Exactly. So you're either going to be a national socialist and push out Russia, a communist and push out Germany, or democratic and push out both when in reality everyone would still be democratic.

other states, believing that communism, which has stood tall against the fascist pillar as an equal, see the benefits of such a communal approach

or the others who believe that there was nothing wrong with democracy, or simply that the form of democracy the original government was providing was not sufficient and believe that they can do better, adopt it

when the original country has been completely destroyed, it's pretty easy to suspend your disbelief and play along that some states would be arrogant enough to become fascist or communist

My problem is that the rp should have started in 1943 or something to allow for some technology progression. Why use a Panzer IV if you can make a Pershing. Why use a T-34 if you can use a Sherman. Like most of the factories should be wrecked, abandoned, also many blue prints should have been lost in the chaos. Also reverse engineering should take time. You can't just take apart a Sherman and build another and expect to perform just as well. When it comes to armor, you need to know the correct alloys to make Rolled Homogeneous Armor correctly.

Basically give people more of a reason to use foreign weapons over domestic weapons and to get their industrial base going.
