To be honest, the longer the timespan of episodes, the more that the running theme of an episode will be dragged out. With quickies, it's point A to point B, covering what is needed with whatever intended theme (Making it funny, being serious) without spreading it so thin it's almost like we're not talking about it at all.

is there going to be more than 3 actors for each team because a 3v3 with this kind of character development setup seems to be a bit awkward IMO.

Yeah, I think it would be nice to see extras in the background talking/fighting while the main characters are in the foreground doing their thing.
