Assuming you're nvidia.

I do have an NVIDIA card so that's good to know.

i have an nvidia card and i get a solid 30 fps, then every so often (as in every 5 seconds) i drop down to 5-1 fps for like 6 seconds

Well that's not what happens to me. I'll be running at 60 FPS and then randomly the game will freeze and crash. Only game this has ever happened on.

Everquest next/Landmark run on the same engine as planetside 2, Which is all 64 bit only now.

Shoulda looked it up a bit dummy.
