Author Topic: Apple announces iOS 8, OS X Yosemite and new programming language "Swift"  (Read 2807 times)

if iphones wern't so expensive for 64GBs i would hop on.

it's cheaper for me to get any android phone with sd support and pop in my class 1 32GB microsd card for music.

not saying iphones are crap, but i would get one if i could if i can thanks to ios8 and swype.

Awesome. Can't wait to update my MacBook Air.

I really want a MacBook Pro but I don't need one at the moment. I'll probably start saving money and buy a good model for college

as far as i can tell every programming language does the exact same thing with a few changes here and there and then overexpresses those changes by making them sound concise and amazing

except html because i have no idea what the forget is happening in html it doesnt look like anything

IOS 8 looks cool i guess though im going to hate updating my ipod again, Yosemite is interesting but i dont have a macbook or any apple computer or the money to buy one and honestly swift has some potential but at the same time i dont see it going majorly anywhere because it could be clunky or generally bad, and it might be hard to compete with other engines/programming tools that are available for IOS, i could be wrong but hell they just announced it

I didn't think apple knew programmers existed

The new OSx looks fantastic, but it reminds me too much of the new iOS sleek interface which I'm not a fan of. Also what is Cocoa Touch?

ios8 still doesn't support downloads through a browser

i love ios because of how smooth and fast it runs but it's about as flexible as a brick

i dont like the look of OS X at all
it seems like apple is just playing catch up with the dumb "flat and minimalist EVERYTHING" fad
this, i liked it at first, but now its just loving irritating. i would prefer to not just update, but i can't because some of my games have to

A language that no developer knows and is overly complicated,
Well done apple.

At least they aren't dumping the old one completely.

Swift looks stupid. Seems to me that they took objective c, added features native to C++, then dumbed down the syntax for no reason at all

that programming language looks like they just welded python and javascript together
