you may have three times as many soldiers, but i've got elites and a higher tech level
any schmuck can get elite training in 1-2 turns and tech level is completely independent of troop count and training
assuming i recruited twice (and i didn't because sometimes manpower drops to plentiful after 1 recruit) each turn it would take 37.75 turns of recruiting to get that many troops
this is of course ignoring the troops lost during wartime and other events
you can't just grow this stuff on trees like training
