Even though Pichu, which is my favorite, was dropped and still is dropped, I'm just glad one of the forbidden five melee characters is back. Dr. Mario would be either my 2nd or 3rd choice to bring back a melee character.

METHOD II
Camp on any SSB4-related Gamexplain video. For some reason people seem to dump codes there.
METHOD III
Find an EU code, then track someone down who needs it and has a NA code they're willing to swap.
