competitive players don't use the same strategy unless you give them the same situations
at the same time someone who plays casually doesn't care about strategy and just wants to have a fun time with their buds and u no wat that's jus as fine. competitive players don't have fun fighting people that give them the same situations either

it's not the same strategy though, because think of it this way
let's say you play a set of 5 matches and you have the same character each time
you and the other player are both humans
this means you adapt and change as you notice things don't work
eventually the same old combos won't work because your opponent will understand what you're doing to lead into it and how they can stop that and come back with their own combo

not exactly
when mac gets in the air he can still use his specials, especially (hue) counter so he isn't completely helpless in midair

I always like to use the random character function. I beat my friends a fair portion of the time, so I guess that's pretty good. I wouldn't say I've mastered any character, but I have trouble getting better on my own, so my skill level is kind of limited by my friends and we get better together.
