Yeah all of this would work in theory but the CF player didn't even need to use any specials. He was actually really loving good.
Or maybe it was the up throw and up airs he kept doing.
Either way I couldn't beat him once after several games. Never experienced that kind of utter defeat before.

depends on who you were using
i literally had to git gud as mario because i needed a character with good air and fast moves to deal with all these falcons that spam the same crap over and over again
it's just as bad as the bair and gordo spamming dededes
Aces:
I've found that Ike is generally good at stopping fast characters if you have split second timing and patience.
Probably won't work on more skilled players but Ike is usually useful despite being 90% punish.
Not that I use anything but Lucina against a CF because of the trailer.

Don't forget the bodyroll they do all the time, god I loving hate Dedede Glory players they're incredibly annoying, also Bowser.jr
