Author Topic: Overheat while playing Blockland  (Read 1904 times)

Because I have recently moved countries I am using a mid-range laptop.
The problem is that while playing Blockland the computer tends to overheat and shut off.
This does not happen while playing other games.

My Specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD A4-4355M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.90 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7400G
RAM: 4 GB
System: Win 8 64x

I am obligated to ask: Are you placing the laptop on a flat, hard surface. Are the fans/vents unobstructed? Has the laptop been recently cleaned?

Yes the laptop is placed on a hard flat surface, there is barely any space for vents in the laptop structure itself, and yes it has been cleaned. The problem only persists with blockland.

What are you graphics settings at, does it help to turn them down.

If there is a vent located at the bottom of the laptop, prop it up.
I have a laptop too that I play Blockland with, and Blockland is the only game that it will overheat with (just about).
I usually use a little tiny block or something and it does fine.
If you want you can also get a desktop fan to help blow air into the vent that sucks in air.

Turning graphics down does help a bit,
I will try prop it up for today.
Thanks

Can you please stop insulting laptops for once? People have their own opinions.

OT: Maybe you can put a new fan?

I didn't 'insult' a single laptop exept mine...
Anyways, Try running less applications. Close skype, chrome, etc...

Anyways proping it up higher seemed to do the trick, thanks.
Im just going to lock this now
