and any add-ons the devs feel necessary to include
That is what they are saying it is.

Its "necessary".

As much as I'm good at avoiding these things, it's still unnecessary. I really shouldn't have to take the extra steps to read every single button and checkbox to get as little bloatware as possible.
Should go:
Intro screen with just next/cancel buttons.
Terms and conditions. Agree/Cancel buttons.
Install options. Such as language, path, shortcuts, and any add-ons the devs feel necessary to include. Next/cancel buttons.
Done.

None of this [Default checked] Yes, I want to install Gamespy so I can play with my friends online.
Or even
"Look at this stuffty toolbar, click agree to install it, click disagree to continue installing the program you want"

I completely agree with you yes, I don't want to take that extra step either. But what other way is there to promote a toolbar or antivirus without spending lots and lots of money? Plus it is beneficial right? McAfee is not total stuff for people who dont have anti virus and consider the fact that a good portion of people who do download adobe reader (For example) arnt that very computer literate.

Toshiba SHOULD leave their laptop full of their computer ware crap. If you don't know jack about computer, bet money you might end up using it. And if you do know something about computers then you would end up uninstalling it or better yet install a better version of windows.

You don't understand the difference between bloatware and add-ons then.
Last time I checked, Weapon_Gun doesn't give me a toolbar.

Now that you've mentioned toolbars, does anyone even use those? i just open a tab and google it.

I thought you meant things that are additional to the application you are installing.

not time to celebrate yet, it still has to pass congress (or house i dont remember)
f- on your knowledge of the united states government

There are some programs that while installing them, give you the option to install add-ons that are literally just add-ons to that program you're installing. Whether it be other languages, visualizations for media players, exporters for editing programs, etc.

well clearly they are because they're still being made

Now if only they'd ban this nonsense.
Before a few weeks ago I used that stuffty thing
it was literally the WORST thing
it blocked literally every port for every game, meaning I couldn't host stuff.

Back when I hosted my zombie survival defense thing, it worked just fine for me. I don't see why people hate it with a passion.
