There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old layout. I swear, they just get bored and say "hmm let's just make YouTube more simple by removing useful features from the homepage and making it MORE DIFFICULT TO GET TO"

There used to be a link that goes directly to your YouTube channel. Now that link is gone.

Seriously this is cumbersome and hard to use
i know this happens every update but google has loving destroyed youtube at this point and every time they lower it a bit more into the stuff pile i feel bad
i sent them a complaint and it's literally just telling them to stop
