why do people use linux, i understand why for servers but not for daily use, very few applications support linux right now

very few applications support linux right now

i havent ran into any problems compatability-wise; i only use wine to emulate blockland and starcraft

I use linux as a daily driver. The only thing that this argument applies to is PC games and very specific closed source applications.
I get it if you need a particular application for something important, but otherwise linux is a perfectly plausible platform.
Also gaming. Linux isn't good for gaming at all.
