if you want a more open widget with more stuff look at zooper, but it costs a bit.

i've been experimenting with Kustom / KWLP
its some cool stuff but it's not easy to understand
so far i've managed to place a circle on my wallpaper that grows to fill the entire screen when i touch it, then shrinks down again when i touch it again
