Author Topic: what do deaf people do/say when they feel pain?  (Read 1303 times)

to be specific, people that are deaf from birth

i ask this because, if they were deaf from birth, they would have never heard another person say "owch" in their entire life, so when they feel pain, what do they do? what do they say? it is just "owch" or is it some other sound? do they say anything at all? help me

i made another thread like this years ago but i didn't really word it as best as i could so i will ask again

physical pain? probably just yell/moan without knowing

emotional? can't say, but it would be hard to hear the bad news I'm sure

shame cubelands isnt around anymore we could ask him

Punch a deaf person and find out.
Make sure they don't see you coming because it has to be a surprise.

but what if they fight back???

They yell "ow" in sign language

what about people who are mute (incapable of speaking)

would they just wince or let out some kinda moan?

They yell "ow" in sign language
You mean using the "ow" sign harshly?

it depends what kind of mute they are
if they don't have the ability to form language but can still make noise, then they'll yell or whimper or something
if they actually can't make noise, then it'd probably be like how an average person reacts to pain minus the loud yelling and possible swearing
