the movie didnt follow the actual story's moral

basically, the zombie vampire things only wanted to rescue the one that the protagonist captured
instead the movie just made them monsters for the sake of having an exciting ending instead of one that involved a bit of thinking on the viewers part

From beginning to end it was kind of mediocre, but the end was especially bad. Instead of keeping the meaningful ending in where Will Smith finds the cure and the vampire people stand there and watch as this person comes back to life, the director chose the ending where he just runs in there with a grenade.
