Author Topic: Internet Browser Megathread - Second Poll!  (Read 6316 times)

Double post. Time to put this thread to good use.
I'm having problems with IE. I can only save files as "untitled.bmp". And I know it's IE because Chrome does not have this issue.
Any IE users willing to lend a hand?
ok if chrome doesn't have that issue
then why are you using ie

Fully expected a "Use Chrome" response.

I want actual help, people.

i've been through so many browsers, but now i see
chrome is the only one for me

That statement can mean a huge number of things; if it literally means that every file type and download you attempt simply changes it to "untitled.bmp", then just change the name to the correct file-type extension and whatever name you want.

I have never had this problem so I can't really tell you how to fix it perminately, although Google is your friend when it comes to searching up how to fix stuff.

Am I the only person who has used internet explorer for 15 years and not had a single problem with it? It has literally worked fast and flawlessly from the first time I've used it to right now. Everyone who finds Chrome superior must have expected their browser to perform a self repair when they broke it which apparently Chrome can do.

I've already tried googling it, I can't find any helpful solutions - Restarting my computer hasn't worked, clearing my cache doesn't work, and my downloaded programs folder doesn't display anything as unknown or damaged. Maybe IE8 is doing this just to get me to upgrade to IE11. I dunno.

Sounds like stuff's about to go down. I better make a bunch more logos.

EDIT: Here, this one has browser logos.

wtf is with outdated icons mannnn

wtf is with outdated icons mannnn

He's using the ones in the OP.

There's a few reasons I chose the ones that I chose:

1. the rest were .svg
2. new icons are bland and lame

i cant believe all the plebs using google chrome

Alright, things just got a little twisted.

Turns out this whole "everything can only be saved as .bmps" only applies to forum avatars. I just went into the Forum Waiting Room to grab a picture on IE8, forgetting that I can only save as .bmps until the last second. I decided to try saving the picture anyway, and it did, in fact, save as a .png. I tried to save my avatar after that, and it would only save that as a .bmp.

Maybe this is a problem with the forum and not IE? Does this have to do with the fact that Badspot fixed avatar uploading?

Looks like this thread is already dead, but I'm gonna try to revive it one more time.

The results are in for poll 1!

Poll 2: What's your secondary/backup browser?

What does that mean? I only use just the one.

I don't have a secondary browser because Chrome always works.

I use chrome
but I have safari and firefox on my computer. mostly for testing though, because chrome is reliable and I don't need a backup browser

B)

It's self-explanitory.

What's your secondary or backup browser.

Chrome is a horrible ram eating piece of stuff and so is Firefox, at least for the Mac versions, and Safari is way more than decent. Safari 4lyfe
