I hope for windows 9 they try to isolate the two UIs. The desktop should be isolated from the metro UI. I would like the option to use either though.

added the polls.

Who'd vote Windows 9, nobody has it yet

there was no windows 89

lol'd

so basically the gist of that article is "windows 8 was actually p good but people are too stubborn and too stupid to learn how to use a new interface"

Regardless of how well it actually operates, Windows 8 looks terrible. I don't get how randomly colored boxes of different sizes is "design." I'm under the assumption it's possible to modify this with some heavy modding, but I don't know how easy that is. :K

Other than that, I don't really want to judge an OS I never used.

I thought 8.1 has a start button?
it does, and it even has nearly all the functions of the start button, even search. but no, "IT'S JUST NOT LIKE THE OTHER WINDOWS!"

but to me, windows 8 isn't terrible, it's not great but it's definitely not as bad as people call it out to be

qell why would they design thier flagship product in a way no one wanted it. bad business decision there.
it dosnt matter how stupid people are orhow they dont want to change. microsoft was handicapped to think they could reinvent the ui and have the entire world accept it

Windows 8 is usable, it's just that they tried to fit everything into a clusterforget of an operating system. It's incredibly inconsistent and disorganized.

this basically

I quite like Windows 8, it isn't as good as 7/XP in its prime, but I enjoy it.

Because force restarting your PC when it wants to do updates without letting you postpone it is totally acceptable for an operating system.

It already is isolated though, lol. Press the start button for the start menu, press it again for desktop. It's really simple, IDK why people are making a big deal out of metro.

i've never had this on windows 8?

I've had 3 important updates that I've been ignoring for the past few months, you're doing something wrong.
