If you were to put me in (pls) i'd want to be a cornbread american dude who goes on one mission and dies gurgling a tragic backstory through blood and foamy spit in the arms of a much more experienced officer after doing a rookie mistake that got myself killed, then finally dying resulting in said officer shouting "No" and breaking into tears and rising with a vengeance against the aliens
for drama and stuff

or i could be useful too who knows
if you want to make me useful give me an assault rifle and a scope as assault
it's actually in my experience a really useful dude to have (being able to actually hit people and not being a sniper)
