The rate at which the acid hits you depends kind of on a lot. Obviously, if you do twice as much you're going to come up faster which means you're going to feel it sooner. It also depends on how long you hold it in your mouth (LSD absorbs more readily through saliva than the stomach), how wet/dry your mouth is, how hydrated you are, etc.
An hour to hit is very normal.

i was thinking it had to do with the amount i dropped because every other time ive dropped one it was always closer to 45-50 minutes

Aussie slang maybe, basically saying the acid was strong as forget.
It's the same acid I had half a tab of at my last music festival which rocked me almost as hard as my previous double drop trips, so 3 and a half of those was pretty potent.

LSD is generally best left under your tongue/in your mouth to dissolve for the fastest result, I've had trips that take around 45+ to kick in and some trips that went from 0 to multicoloured dragons balls tripping in 15 minutes.
