Today was one of the coldest, rainiest days I've had in a long time, and that was even before I heard the bad news.
RIP, you legend.
EDIT:
Alright, something really loving pissed me off.
On Facebook, some guy was saying how horrible everybody is for mourning a beloved comedian, but not mourning for the thousands dying in places like Africa and Iraq etc.
It's basically like comparing apples and oranges. The people dying in those countries have no personal tie to us, and even though we can feel bad for them, there's very little we can actually do without putting ourselves on the line, and frankly I don't think it's going to do much in the long run. Robin Williams is somebody who inspired and entertained millions, and so people feel a pretty close connection with him.
If we spent time mourning every dead person, nothing would get done. It's important that you think about the ones that count, because otherwise everybody's death is in vain.
