It's almost like "hacking" into your genetic code and making you pay money to the developers.
What? If you mean it's causing you to feel the effects of dopamine, that is exactly what video games are designed to do. It's just more effective in the way it initiates controlled bursts of dopamine than most games.

Fallout 3, Runescape, Skyrim, Final Fantasy, Deus Ex and Oblivion did the same thing. It's not evil to make you want to pay for something. They don't use mind control or anything; it is simply making you more willing to pay for a fun product.

i don't even want to play candy crush simply because "king" is a smokestack of a company that tried to copyright 'candy' (wtf) and even threatened a dude's much older game made to be a memorial for his passed grandma

I don't get it. Matching tiles may be addictive, but it's not fun.
