baked shadows for things like TDM servers should definitely be a thing though

nobody can currently create any form of 'dark' stealth based TDM gamemode using shadows due to the fact people can just turn them off.

There was a topic for that, it died quickly so we never got an answer, so can anybody see if this is possible?

There would need to be engine-side work.

Please keep in mind that most games you're thinking of render at most several hundred non-static objects live, and Blockland might have to render hundreds of thousands.

The only somebody that can do anything is Badspot. It's probably not happening.

Probably not, since improving shadows further for the purpose they serve is a) probably low priority, b) likely a massive headache.
