LOL yeah, I am a big R-Type fan. I love their designs and weapons. I imagine in a fictional sci-fi scenario (Not the games), the R-Type ships would be quite powerful, though. Anyone who has played the games knows that the Wave Cannon doesn't mess around. So powerful, they would kill anything before it comes too close to destroy its weak armor.

I see your point... I suppose that problem is inherent to any starfighter. They are fragile, yet powerful. But... Have you seen those huge-ass cruisers people are using? Those laser beams couldn't hit a barn at 20 meters, let alone an agile fighter! :P
