I have to agree with Furdle here, I like the simplicity of the forum layout. Too many forums and websites try to cram way too much stuff on one page or have gaudy flashy color schemes and even worse are forums that allow users to have huge avatars and signatures. It's just so much meaningless stuff in your field of view making it harder to pick out actual content.

It looks like a forum born in the mid 2000's.

doesnt have enough rep countes, visible signatures bigger than the posts, and avatars with 250x limits.
pretty dated by todays standards. (Although a lot better than todays standards too)

I think the best way to make people comfortable if there is any new theme ever added would be to let the user have an option to use the old one or the new one.

Maybe have a forum theme option, like most forums do.

- Classic Forums
- Modern Forums

Eh, you know what I mean.

The new theme should be mostly Black with a flat look that is sleek and modern.
Maybe there is a SMF Template for what I mean somewhere.

p much the only thing i would change on the forum layout is allowing bigger avatars to get rid of the space between the avatar and the post
