Author Topic: Microsoft is trying to buy out Minecraft.  (Read 3088 times)

Um. What happened to Windows 8 Mobile?

Just because you don't think it's worth that much, doesn't mean it isn't. The gigantic loving community it has will likely disagree. I think that Microsoft is making a smart purchase if they go through with it.

The stupidity in the topic on the Minecraft Forums is frightening.

Yup. Same guy that would defend Apple to death and calls me an starfish for degrading it, goes on to another topic and does the same thing.

Good job.

Maybe if Microsoft bought it they'd add mod support to Minecraft

i guess realistically they wouldn't kick out the devs and put their own in (altho probly hire a few more..) but it's still scary knowing that they would ultimately be the overseers

>Implying Mojang isn't already working closely with Forge and Bukkit to create a universal server/client mod system

And program it in a language other than java.

I actually hope this happens.

Mine craft is a giant mess of shotyy code and incomplete content..
And with being so mod dependant for a following. It has zero mod support.

At least Microsoft could do something with it.

And program it in a language other than java.
Lua is also object oriented so maybe it could work.

EDIT: Oh, stuff you mean port the entire game to a different language. I thought you meant writing mods in a different language.
I can't see a full port working very well.

Really goes to show that a great idea can sell.

lu-a... mor like LU-SER XD

idk why they would want to rebuild it from the ground up in a new language but hey they've done similar things before

i guess the ports had to do that too
