I have about 8000 songs in my iTunes library, and thousands more in various folders. Almost all of these are game soundtracks, most of which I or somebody else has extracted files from the game (extracting soundtracks is a nice, relaxing process that has an awesome reward). It was hard to choose, but the ones that stand out for me are:
- BEYOND: Two Souls
- Grand Theft Auto: IV
- Halo 2
- Mass Effect
- Mirror's Edge
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit II -OR- Need for Speed: Most Wanted -OR- Need for Speed: Undercover
- Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal
- The Last of Us
- The Sims 2
- Transistor
I chose them for overall good soundtracks. There's lots of games which have one or two really incredible songs, but the rest of the soundtrack becomes generic.
The choices other people made in this thread have made me quite confused, actually.
