So I was reading this article:
http://www.vox.com/2014/10/8/6918485/the-overt-islamophobia-on-american-tv-news-is-out-of-control and thought that I could do something about Islamophobia in America. It seems that a popular argument is that not enough Muslims are coming out to condemn the actions of groups such as CIA and should be apologizing for their actions. According to a recent poll by the Arab American Institute, the "approval rating" of Muslims is the lowest of all groups in America:

I won't apologize because I think it is ridiculous to say sorry for the actions of the extremists who I and most Muslims feel no relation to, but I think that I can at least show some people that we aren't just sitting at home and not giving a crap about this subject.
Many Muslims say that we should do nothing at all since it just conveys the message that we have something to do with what is going on in the Middle East, as shown in this article.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/06/muslims-condemn-CIA-debate_n_5927772.html?cps=gravityEveryday I hear discriminatory remarks on my college campus towards Arabs and Muslims, and I don't think getting angry at them will help my cause at all. Instead, I would rather try and see if I can make a student activist group named something such as "Muslims against CIA" or "Muslims against terrorism." I want to see if I can get some people to join and a professor to sponsor and represent the group. I want to get the message out that we Muslims hate CIA more than any other group of people. Believe me, I say this with all my heart.
Also, I am not looking for a religious debate please, this is just something personal to me that I feel has more to do with basic humanity rather than religion. Let me know what you guys think of my idea. I also need some inspiration as to what this group would be doing exactly, besides protests and fundraising for refugees of all religions in the Middle East. Thanks.
