Author Topic: Would you want robots to take over all work?  (Read 3280 times)

i have seen enough star trek to know, that no economy world would be horrible.
people just raising families and painting pictures and thats it.

*vomit
*nods in agreement*

Our society and economy is a built around the concept of people making money to buy things and to pay taxes. If humans aren't working and getting paid, then that means they are buying things. So those companies that manufacture clothes, tvs, toys, electronics, etc will disappear because no is buying things because people don't have money to buy things. Why have a company whose goal is to make profit if you having to nothing to sell or have people buy from you.

Unless you can convince everyone on the planet to buy into that startrek thing, we will probably degrade into simple villages living as our ancestors did in the stoneage only to start over again and work our way back up to where we are now.

only prostitution
Some guy could just make a brothel full of prostitute bots.

imo robots should really only be used for laborious works or things humans cant do

"when will robots take over the world"
oh yeah you know just keep innovating technology that could kill us one day, and oh NO you shouldnt stop doing it, totally shouldnt

Computers still can't think for themselves like humans can. Even the best AIs in the world can't converse with humans quite like how humans converse with other humans. We're unique. For now.

communism would be or only hope if robots took over our jobs. extreme Marxism would be the only way.

Humans Need Not Apply

If we could get some kind of reasonable living structure after everything was mechanized then yeah
I'd say there would still be like
a large-scale human executive council that would have the capability to shut things down and start them back up, and also a bunch of human mechanics trained just in case of any kind of disaster,
but other than that people could just work if they wanted to and such, and if they wanted to remove themselves from the system that would be fine as well.
