Author Topic: Am I the only one who likes the vehicle physics?  (Read 2716 times)

The physics add to the silliness factor of the game due to how just bumping into another vehicle can send you flying towards the moon.

I like the comic side, but I could wish for some more practical physics.

I like how its funny and glitchy but when im being serious and it just messes up I get a little frustrated. Thats all.

No. I've always thought I was alone on liking the physics how they are. :o

My take on the physics is.. They fit the game
For example the blocky modeling look will look extremely sloppy and low quality on games like gmod, but in Blockland it's widely more preferred.

If only the glitchy physics relating to brick collisions were fixed, it would be fine by me. Sometimes you could drive/fall right through bricks, and other times if the brick stops you you get stuck and have to try to get the vehicle unstuck, and also sometimes hitting a corner could launch you into space.

"we take our lego kart racing games very seriously"

They're funny at first but when it starts loving your projects and ambitious ideas over it gets annoying. Half the time in speedkart I'm not even hitting anything (visible) and I'm glitching out. It makes the game look broken.

the physics aren't terrible if you're good at avoiding other vehicles and anything other than modterrain. it adds another challenge to racing - knowing how to not glitch on ramps and stuff
no.

It makes it less fun, playing speedkart is terrible because the players are 2 feet away when theyre really infront of you, then you both bump into eachother and go batstuff.

its terrible, even trying to avoid other players, you will still bump into someone and go crazy.

no.

I didn't say the glitching makes it more fun - I said it adds another challenge. It would be better without glitches, but I've learned to deal with it by avoiding other drivers. It's just another skill to have in order to be good at racing.

It depends on the situation. I know it's probably borderline impossible to implement but I'd love it if there was a toggle between goofy moonbounce physics and good normal physics.

I pretty much have it worked enough that Speedkart is really easy. You just need to get it harnessed and use it to your advantage.

I was looking at a torque guide and found these 2 fields. It seems like they could help make collisions less catastrophic.
