XR-7, I was discussing this with Georges - why not just have everyone cast their vote right here? I mean, that completely eliminates any sort of cheating, unless someone wants to go pay money for extra votes (please don't). There's really no reason for anonymity once the alt-boosting is gone anyway. Sure, it's a bit more work on your end, but it makes it much fairer (accounts w/out keys can still send PMs, that's why I'm suggesting this instead).

Of course, you'd have to state very clearly how voting is to be done (like "I vote for [name] in poll #[whatever]").

The reason they don't do this is because how lazy the team is to gather all the votes. They literally made a rule about how alts are okay to use because they'd rather just have the poll thing do it for them.

You realize it's one person, right? And I am seeing nowhere that he's too lazy. Also, if that was said, it was probably said when the whole account spamming thing wasn't happening. Now, though, it is a legitimate problem, so I'm just suggesting a new way.

^That would be another reason why most poll systems would fail. If we were to use a poll, it would have to be one that requires some form of ID at sign-up that can't be (or won't likely be) faked/bypassed. The only logical choice, then, is the forum itself, as a key is required, everyone posting here already has one, and it costs money to get another vote (the unlikeliness factor).

I can just call it good (since Greek/Seventh and Raven/Georges were likely going to win anyway) and we can move on to the semifinals after due process.
