Author Topic: How fast have you driven your car?  (Read 7136 times)

146mph in my friend's BMW on the highway

30mph / 50km/hr when learning to drive :3

I drive stock cars over 120 mph all the time. Most I've gone in my street car is 130 in my old Audi a couple years back. Was on I-90 at 4 in the morning racing my friend lol.

The fastest I've gone is 80mph or so. Austin's kind of a stuffhole when it comes to traffic, so there's no place where you can physically go over that without crashing into someone or something within seconds.

Where's Trinick at?  Rofl

Personally I've gotten to 120 mph but I've been in cars going much faster

if you're going to speed just for the sake of going fast, go ahead and do it if you have the skill to handle the car and be completely aware of your surroundings - I don't care if you break the law -
but if you're that much of an imbecile as to pull your phone out(forcing you to drive with one hand at high speeds) and focus on taking a pic of the speedometer? Well, you don't deserve a license.

I myself do speed on occasion, but nothing higher than 20 over the limit; anything over 90 on the freeway is when the cops actually start caring.

holy stuff be careful

on topic, 80mph on the highway.
My car can barely do it though, it's an old insight so it isn't built for speed.

This thread is why permit and license tests should be more strict

Edit: the reason why you can go fast on race tracks is they are on a gradient. The corners are on a tilt to allow the cars to have more friction so they don't slide. The brakes are also much better.

With streets there is no gradient meaning that the faster you go the less friction you have. Less friction means your tires won't grip the road when you brake. If you can find a big open road that is straight with no traffic be my guest and speed. But if your on a backroad I'm not coming to your funeral.
