The design (color palette specifically) needs work... :|

App concept seems pretty spot-on awesome though! Too bad I use iOS... :K

Could you explain this in depth?

the orange and purple is okay, but the cyan and magenta buttons are pretty sketchy looking, like i'd find it on an ad on a research site asking me if i wanted to meet some lovey nearby singles

this app is offensive to me

Sounds interesting, I'd love to try it when it comes to iOS

Welcome to machat my son.

Could you explain this in depth?

It's mostly subjective but I'll try.

The primary color of your app is orange, with accents of blue-cyan, magenta, and purple. Not only do I think four hues is much in a color palette, they also clash in a strange way. The harmony between orange and blue-cyan works because they are complementary colors. The addition of magenta (and purple), however, creates a clash that makes the colors not work as well together. Both colors are between Magenta and cyan CAN work together, but the orange would have to be more yellow.

I, however, think the orange is a good color for your primary and should stay. I made a test palette for myself and tried changing the magenta into a more pleasing color and the blue-cyan to something more cyan. I went with a split-complementary palette and tried changing the magenta to a blue. The buttons' colors create contrast from the background, but are still close enough to the main color that they draw attention to themselves.

Another solution would be to change the magenta to red, but red tends to be a very strong color and might overpower the orange background.

As for the purple, I would say eliminate it and replace it with the blue color (or if you still like magenta, use that). 3 colors is enough in my opinion. Always remember, though, that your opinion counts more, so go for your four colors if you like that better! :)

Just remove the stuffty ms paint squares altogether. Just have regular dark gray buttons against an orange background. You could also design a pattern and apply with a Gaussian blur for the background.

Also, does this have security? Could you protect from mysql attacks or script injection?
You need to make the user sign up with an email as well, for password recovery, verification, etc.

Is the interface based off of kik? Because it looks damn close to it.

Overall, this project could have great potential IFF you execute this properly.

(PS, you want to remove the screenshots with the offensive words, especially if you want to look professional to regular customers.)

one reason why things like this will never be very popular is because a lot of people don't want their house parties public. they tell their friends and have a few of their friends tag along. otherwise, people they don't necessarily want may show up, including police.

it's not that you've done a bad job or anything, it's the concept in itself.

These are good combinations for orange.

1. Snapchat has stuffty ms paint squares and people don't mind lol.
2. Yes all user input for mysql queries are parsed. All passwords are hashed SHA-1 with a salt. As for injecting java code on to the client, like XSS for the web, I believe android automatically parses all its text views.
3. I plan to add email for password recovery.
4. The only thing that's kik related would be the green message bubble.
5. Yeah I should probably take some more appropriate pictures.

1. I made this in the mindset of having it as public as possible. You can also block people from your house if they become a nuisance.

Sounds interesting and I would probably use it as I find it easier not being face to face to people.

Just let me know when iOS comes out.
