http:// sites where can i host files for free

Author Topic: http:// sites where can i host files for free  (Read 3226 times)

i need a site that uses http:// links (not Https://) to host files for support updater, it needs to be free, because i am cheap.

i have already tried webs.com, and it seems that you now require a premium membership to host zip files there :c, but i can still host my repository.txt there, which is somewhat nice...

does anyone know of any good sites that meet my standards? or want to help me a bunch by hosting some files on their site?

dropbox works
dropbox is https

it says on the support updater page that you can use onedrive and pastebin for it. read: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=255382.0

dropbox is https
I used it before to download stuff with torkscript

Unless they changed it recently, that would suck

Mediafire works too. Just make sure the file is below 12 GB and its free.

Please use any other filehosting other than MediaFire.
Please.

The link they give you is https, but you can just remove the 's' and it's fine

That's what I thought, but I'm not sure if it still works

mediafire is awesome?

Doesn't mediafire generate another direct download link after awhile or something?
Or am I thinking of some other file hosting site.
Plus could you even update the file without it generating a new link?

Why is everyone using things like mediafire, when Dropbox gives you way more than enough space to host your add-ons.

Dropbox no longer supports HTTP. It will try to redirect you to the HTTPS URL if you try to use HTTP. I had a lot of headache about this and it sucks. :(

Darnit.

Use Pastebin then?
I'm sure it could work.

actually still looking for ideas here, because this:
