Already ran malwarebytes still have it though do i need to be in safemode?

You might need to take it to a repair shop, Cryptoviruses are a bitch to deal with, and I speak from personal experience. So unless you can get it to a repair shop, or manage to remove the infection somehow, I believe youre screwed

Try following Satan from Wreck-It-Ralph's link, might help a bit

safe mode and run antivirus scan, if that doesn't work or you want to be sure then use this tutorial

Your Dad's files are encrypted and most likely cannot be recovered. Your best bet is to boot into safe mode and run an antivirus to remove it, then restore from a backup if you have one.

This
I've had this type of virus before and it removed my music, skyrim save ;-;, and lots of other things. Lucky enough I had some of it backed up.

freek got hit with ctb and we had to re-install, I helped him with it
next time, use avast or something

that's just those sites that advertize their av's, we tried to remove it and it broke windows

This article has good information on the virus: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/ctb-locker-ransomware-information
Also, if your lucky some of your files may actually be recoverable due to the process the virus uses to encrypt the files (but not by decrypting the files since that's practically impossible). Control + F "Method 2: File Recovery Software" for this section after you get rid of the virus.

Buy an online back up, put your files in there from now on to prevent these things from happening.
