Some people do though. And criminals know that. Because of concealed carry laws, criminals never know when someone has a gun, and it makes them more fearful of doing anything.
General:
I'd never want it to get to the point where I'd only feel safe if I had a gun on me while outside tbh
I guess I'm fortunate enough to have never seen or heard of a gun crime in my area
