guns being legal in the first place, here at least, was not for protecting ourselves from each other, but protecting ourselves from the government. it was so if the people felt the government is corrupt, they would take up arms and form militias. governments aren't going to use the small stuff, and they sure don't have restricted access.
so basically, the civilians would be more at risk than less

so illegalizing guns because they hurt people is justified because rebels can raid a government fort and get there weapons anyways?
