There is no use for the Karambit except to injure people, or for the novelty of owning one (which is also a large motive behind why people buy firearms). The axe has about one non-lethal use, to chop wood. --- End quote --- Um knives are used for cutting things? You know, meat, fishing line, plastic packaging, assortments of other things. |

--- Quote from: Foxscotch on April 16, 2015, 10:04:28 PM ---gas stoves, unlike guns, are not designed and created to kill people --- End quote --- You're missing the point; it doesn't matter if it's a gas stove, or anything else that's potentially dangerous. The point is that if some people don't know how to properly handle a piece of equipment, that doesn't mean that piece of equipment should be illegal, it just means that more people should be getting training to properly handle the said piece of equipment. With the point of guns being manufactured to kill, then it makes sense people should at least have proper safety training before buying a gun. Because some people fail to have training before buying a gun is the reason accidents happen, not because guns are inherently dangerous. If you put a loaded handgun on a table, it isn't going to kill anyone by itself. Just like somebody who knows how to use a gas stove isn't going to burn down the house, somebody with proper training and responsibility that also owns a firearm aren't a harm to society. |
