Absolutely everything you are taught is used somewhere in the world now, and it manages to creep into many things you wouldn't expect it to.
Like, say trig in maths... You wouldn't think you'd need to use it, but if you go onto further maths education or physics you'd find out trig goes into many other things. It can even be used in construction
