"£2.73 for apprentices rate, aged under 19, or if you're 19 or over and in the firsr year of their apprenticeship. £3.79 for people under age of 18 who are no longer of compulsory school age. £5.13 for workers aged 18 - 20 years inclusive."
this seems kind of low

I'm kinda happy with the minimum wage in the UK, except for there being a distinction between 18-20 year olds and 21+.
I don't really understand why that gap is there, since 18-20 year olds are expected to either be in education or full-time employment, for the most part.
It seems unfair that a 19 year old can have a full time job at a shop, doing the same work and same hours as a 22 year old, yet be paid over a quid less per hour.

Jubel:

I agree with bisjac that most people who are in bad money situations that adding more money wont help them, because the vast majority of the time it accounts to bad management of it.

However, that being said, if you give more lower income people more money they'd be spending more of it. More money in the system means wealthier bisjacs, and less inflation, which is good.
So I am in support of raising minimum wage, as it'll help inject more money into the system for low-weath citizens to spend and give back to everyone else.

Actually No, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't really be that good in the long run.
