so r u sayin unskilled people deserve to be poor...

idk if i agree with that sentiment PERSONALLY but i'm probs misunderstandin...
I'm saying unskilled people will be payed less than someone that is skilled, and unskilled people don't deserve a free ride.

yeah i agree on a fundamental level

i don't think anyone should have to be in poverty of any description though, be it absolute or relative. i guess that's my hippie-wippie liberal socialism talking or w/e. i suppose then i would agree with the idea that minimum wage should be a "living wage" and iirc it's at least pretty close to that but that may be outdated information

So you're saying joe blow should be making 15 bucks an hour flipping burgers on a grill? Absolutely not. Minimum wage is there for unskilled jobs. If companies need skilled workers, the workers would demand the amount they deserve and the company wouldn't be in business if they only hired at min wage because nobody would work there for a stuffty income.
Thats not even related to what we were discussing.

I already agreed that it shouldn't raised though.

My state passed to raise min wage to $10.10. I wish they didn't because all that'll happen is prices will go up which will just cause more problems down the road.

my biggest problem with it is that I don't think that our economy can really handle that - at least close the wage gap between genders

in CAD or USD?

CAD

only 20 cents less than the us dollar

beats a lot of the states minimum

yes i am

what other purpose does education, experience, and hard work serve.

life is about having more or less money then the next person. is sad as it is, its the hard truth. and everything we do or dont do in society reflects that single point.

but you're unskilled...????????

but you're unskilled...????????
Yeah he could have gotten some better skills at Harvard

...
It basically makes people working at night already (such as my grandpa) struggle more. Night workers get paid more than day workers but their wages won't go up because its already over the line by a hair.

but you're unskilled...????????

not sure what you mean. i have more qualifications then nearly all of you combined.

i'm in kindergarten... i'm almost a big boy...
