you STOLE FIZZY LIFTING DRINKS

imma pop a soda cap in your ass

soda
if you say pop i will immediately believe you are a neo-confederate, tribal redneck who thinks the liberals are actually trying to take away all the guns and implement a marxist-jihadist agenda
"pop" is a completely northern term
if you just generalize it all as "coke" i'll assume you're a neo-confederate tribal redneck

"pop" is a completely northern term
i know
but it doesn't change the fact that saying pop puts that image in my mind

"LOOKY HERE PARDNER YOU WANT SOME POP!???!?"

and if you generalize them as coke you are simply, factually, incorrect
pepsi is not coke
mountain dew is not coke
sprite may be made by the coca-cola company but it is still not coke
it just isn't. it's like calling all colors "red."

i know
but it doesn't change the fact that saying pop puts that image in my mind

"LOOKY HERE PARDNER YOU WANT SOME POP!???!?"
that'd be the sort of time where someone would say "sodie pop," which is worst of all three

for reference my family says pop on one half and soda on the other

destabilizing those polls

what kind of friend calls it POP???????????
the coolest kids call it soda.

I knew you were going to pop the question, nonnel

irn bru best drink forget you

the liberals are actually trying to take away all the guns and implement a marxist-jihadist agenda

as if this isn't actually happening

Soda, I guess, but I literally never refer to carbonated drinks like that anywhere but on these forums on our annual pop v soda debate.

I just refer to things by what they are.
Colas are called either Coke or Pepsi.
Lemonade covers Sprite, 7Up, maybe Lilt.
Anything fruity I will ask for by name. Tango, Fanta, etc..

If I'm in a restaurant or pub where I might not see their brands of fizzy drink I usually just ask for lemonade, and usually get whatever brand. Probably Schweppes or some wholesale generic brand.
Any other instance and there's usually a sign and I was blessed with the ability to read.

Lemonade covers Sprite, 7Up, maybe Lilt.

What?? I....what??

If I have to refer to carbonated drinks as a whole, I say "soda", but usually I refer to brand name. Anyone who says "pop" is secretly over 50 years old. Anyone who says "soda pop" or any variants of that is old AND gay.

Pop because that's what everyone says in the north, but I try to say soda so the dumb-dumbs don't get confused.
