it depends on the circumstances, censoring can be used to prevent mass panic and let people actually fix things without having to deal with the public outraging because they can't know all the details on the other hand censoring can be used to save politician's asses |

I wouldn't say censorship is ever justified, but there's some commonsense limitations to free speech that I agree with, like: * Preventing mass panic, i.e. "shouting fire in a movie theater" * Punishing libel, but only when the damage is completely provable * Limiting the types of clothing worn in public institutions, like schools and courtrooms |
