Good and cheap(ish) gaming laptops?

Author Topic: Good and cheap(ish) gaming laptops?  (Read 1590 times)

Looking for a decent and cheap-ish laptop that can run most games well. I don't mean Battlefield 4 in 60fps, but regular games at a good framerate. A toaster already plays most games better than my current computer.

I have ~$300. My parents said they'd put in a few hundred dollars since they know I need a new PC. I'd put my budget around $1300

Found this for $1250, and currently on sale. Any recommendations?

EDIT:I mean a decent laptop. Not a very good one

that combination does not exist

IMO a gaming laptop is not worth it. They are prone to breaking down after a year or two.

I usually go to my friend's house overnight and we play on our computers for hours throughout the night. I need a laptop. There's also no space on my desk for a desktop, and it's too far from my PS4 to record on my elgato.

> Good
> Cheap

Pick one
I mean decent. One that runs games decently and doesn't lag any game I play. Read OP

so a few hundred is a thousand dollars to your parents?

EDIT:
This is open box but about as good as it gets for a laptop. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232202R
This one is new http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152554 and much better than the one in OP while only being 100 bucks more.

As long as you don't need the "80 FPS FULL QUALITY GRAFICKS" that most people quote they do, you should be fine.

(God, that bugs me. Past 35 fps, there really isn't much of a difference.)

Forgot to mention, I'm saving up more money (doing odd jobs and stuff, me and a friend shovel snow whenever it snows and get some money for it).

Also, is it true that laptops like these overheat really quickly, and usually stop working after 2-3 years? This is what I heard

Where is this mentality coming from? You get what you pay for.

yeah gaming laptops tend to have overheating issues. Just don't keep it on a bed or anything that covers the fans and keep the bottom elevated so it gets airflow and you're good.

Don't play them 24/7 though. Might burn up like mine did.

Dude $1300 can get you a pretty good PC.
