Jaakko decides against asking about the run as his sense of mortality returns to him. He is overcome with a wave of fatigue and the memory of the surge operations leading in to Taiton.
Twice more now he'd been thrust into unsustainable operations. He tallies the wounded, but can't get a figure between various distractions. He enters his bunk room and falls in to a chair, the weight of the flak vest providing a comforting pressure.

It's now the next morning, and those of you who didn't hear it the night prior from Tarkirov or Bell learn that the bombing of the Imperial carrier was a resounding success. None of the attacking cruisers were so much as fired upon, and by the time all four of them finished their run the carrier was a barely-recognizable carcass. Many surrounding buildings were damaged by the bombs, some even collapsing altogether; and Ozolin park is a total write-off, but this falls within the realm of acceptable collateral damage when considering the value of the target.
Elu's temporary handler enters the mess hall with the robot in tow and begins looking for Cualli to hand it back off to her.
Operator¹:
Bell is sitting in her office and filling out some forms.
: Maybe we'll get some fresh pilots and some more planes. With half the squadron in the infirmary, it's going to be rough on the rest of them.
