that's a good point

that's their weak point

I'd like you to look at this informational graphic about cover, that thing that most soldiers sit behind while they shoot at each other in a firefight.

Notice what isn't visible?

yeah well we'll win the war with or without your groin and legs

Tippy finishes hooking up power specific points to the car battery. She also stripped off some of the more damaged chassis parts of the bot. It kind of feels that some of the armor pieces are unnecessarily heavy. Tippy carefully detaches the arms and legs and sets them aside. Don't want a thrashing homicidal robot bouncing around the room do we?

She pulls out a Multimeter and tests the connection points for positive energy flow. The screen flashes green indicating that the battery is indeed live.

She holds her breath and flips it on.

This isn't a situation where having extra ballistic plates makes you even remotely bullet-proof, just slightly bullet resistant. Sure, that NAUC soldier isn't going to be plinked to death as easily by a stuffload of Kintharian quads spraying him with 5.7mm rounds, but he's still going to die. It's not like the armor just magically stops bullets.

Why are we having this whole conversation about bullets when shrapnel is the #1 something cause of wounds in war.
