"I'd imagine so." Cualli pokes at her food a bit.

"So who did you end up rooming with?" she asks, looking up from her plate at him. "Gods, I hope you didn't get stuck with--" Cualli pauses and glances around the mess hall, then continues in a quieter voice, "...with Virvel."

: Well, I did.

: Well, I did.
"That must have been an absolute nightmare. Did you manage to get any sleep?"

Virvel looks back and forth between Tippy and Jaakko as the two start to bicker, unsure of who to believe.

"Don't you try to gaslight me Tippy. She jumped out of the recovery deck and you watched her,"

"Don't you try to gaslight me Tippy. She jumped out of the recovery deck and you watched her,"

"Just because you want to spicen up a tale to look cooler doesn't mean you should, Jaakko. Sheesh." Tippy polishes off her coffee and bites into a buttered bagel.

Walter sits in the crew quarters, pondering what there is to do aboard the carrier during downtime. He had packed a few books tailored to his liking in case there wasn't any type of entertainment he liked aboard, and even if he didn't get to read some he could still likely trade them for odd things with other personnel.

Jaakko is made uneasy by the bank of the turn.

"forget you Tippy," he says, trying to suppress a grin.

"That must have been an absolute nightmare. Did you manage to get any sleep?"
: Yeah. The noise was more of a nusciance than she was, if I'm being fair.

Virvel just grins and eats her food while watching you two bicker.

Cualli tries some of the food. "Yeah, it's... loud. And kind of rattle-y. And also cold," she says. "Luckily, Elu here is a robot, and he puts off a good bit of heat." Cualli grins and continues, "I had him sit on my bed and keep my feet warm while he recharged."

Gus smiles and shakes his head.

Ellie arrives at Bell's quarters and knocks on the door. Bell opens the door herself and allows Ellie to go in.

"So, what do you need, Lieutenant?"
"Tippy told me that I should get the stuff from you- for the Wyvern," Ellie pauses as Bell stands up and goes to get the bag from the closet, then setting it on the desk in the room. Ellie comes closer to the desk to see what is inside, but her attention is diverted by Bell talking again.
"You get to fly a Wyvern, quite the honor you have there. I'm pretty sure the other two have told you to not lose the plane, so I won't bother you with that talk again. Make sure the pilot gear fits you and read that manual."

Bell hands over the bag; Ellie salutes the commander leaves the room for her quarters to try out the flight suit.

Jaakko looks at Virvel and consideres taunting her about the Wyvern, but realizes that she'd probably gut him as a result.

He glances at his drink. The carrier was still banking, the slight difference between the floor and gravity's pull is throwing him off.

"I would have liked to fly the Wyvern, but it would have been a massive waste to have it carry ESAM and GSCRAM all the time," Jaakko says.

The Tordenskjold meets up with three escort cruisers, the Vandrare, Omutlig, and Grym, and thus begins an agonizingly long month of drills seemingly without end. For the first week and a half, they come every single day for one station or another. Sometimes you're being called to your craft for an emergency launch, other times you're doing drills for things like fires, security breaches, hostile boarding actions, or even preparing for crash landings/abandon ship scenarios. All of this while having to adjust to the bizarre pseudo-timezone known as "Coordinated Fleet Time" that all Aesthian airships run on regardless of their position on the globe. The human body was never prepared for 3:00 PM one day to be dead of night, and the same time next "day" to be early morning, and as a result some people get to be rather grateful of there being so few windows.

As performance improves, the drills arrive less frequently, and after two weeks everybody is able to settle into a routine now that they aren't bolting from their chairs every few hours. The month draws to a close with Mjolnir and Djuriskas capable of fully deploying in just under eleven minutes, and the Sky Marshal officially notes his approval of the progress that's been made to Bell, Jaakko, and Kommandant before assembling the rest of the pilots for a briefing in front of a large digital display.
: Our mission today is in the city of Kronovostok, located on the southeast coast here. The Army is currently preparing to lay siege, but they can't get underway while the Goths have their airships parked overhead. Intel reports one carrier, three cruisers, and six destroyers over Kronovostok, and we need all of them destroyed or driven off before we have any hope of a ground operation. The Kintharians have already begun skirmishing with the Imperials in an attempt to draw them out, and we're heading their way to back them up. At 1430 CFT, we will rendezvous with the light carrier Vaktare, and the cruisers Vilde, Zemsta, and Obetvinglig; and move to engage the Imperial fleet.

The briefing screen changes to show the position of all forces that will be engaging in the operation.
: Now, the Kintharians have already pulled four destroyers far away from the main force over the city, as well as portions of the carrier's fighter and drone wings. These destroyers are our targets for the first phase of the engagement. You get in, you take them down, and you get out before the rest of the Imperials move to engage us.

Mission Specifics:
Time of day: Midday
Weather: Clear
Allies: Drones, fighters, ground troops
Enemies: Airships, drones, fighters, ground troops

Jaakko turns to Graf.

"Are you ready for this, Gaffe?" he asks, grinning slightly.

Jaakko turns to Graf.

"Are you ready for this, Gaffe?" he asks, grinning slightly.

Graf grins a little. "Is that my new nickname? I expected better. Trust me, I won't be making mistakes this time. At least, as little as I can while being PD bait."

He holds out his hand. "You are... Major Kirves, right?"
