"Gladiator!," Lorens calls out, "You're something else man. Thanks for saving my ass again, that's another one on me. Walt, don't think I forgot about what you did earlier. You're getting a drink too."

Lorens lights up the burners and chases down the last drone. He gets a bead and pulls the trigger to put it out of its misery.

Faw simply states, "I'm returning to the carrier."

Faw continues to fly towards the carrier.

The last drone is taken out, and the airspace is secure for the time being.

Jaakko isn't in the mood for games. He turns and takes his helmet off, looking irritated.

"Gods damnit," he says angrily.
"If you'd look around that wouldn't have happened. Looks like the fight has wrapped up based on the comm chatter."

Faw goes in for a landing, preparing to touch down, trying his best to compensate for his damaged wing and keep his aircraft stable.

Walter heads into land

"No problem Snowman, sounds like a good plan."

"If you'd look around that wouldn't have happened. Looks like the fight has wrapped up based on the comm chatter."

"Good. I was starting to think I'd led the rest of them into a massacre," Jaakko says, "Either way we're still missing three of our own."

He studies the Tukreb, still wearing an irritated look.

The rest of Mjolnir lands on Tordenskjold, followed shortly by Virvel and Pansar. The rest of the aircraft remain in the air until the threat of further drone attack diminishes and a majority of them are brought back to their motherships. Despite fighting in two back-to-back air battles, and the fact that the sun is beginning to set, the day's duties continue to drag on. An officer comes down from the bridge looking for people to take part in a search/rescue/recovery mission that is about to be flown. Virvel is first on the line to fill the piloting position, and several air force riflemen and medics have already been selected to ride along, leaving three slots open for additional boots on the ground and two for a fighter escort.

Around the same time the recovery team is being assembled, Gus has finally tracked down his quarry. The capsule jettisoned from one of the Hyperion fighters lies in the middle of an empty road, a relatively short distance away from the building Gus is currently eyeing it from.

Faw volunteers for the recovery mission immediately, looking to be one of the boots on the ground.

Walter heads over to the SAR team to inquire if they need any help, secretly hoping he can get to walk around on the ground again for once.

Jaakko, despite being irritated and tired, volunteers to either go on the ground or fly cover, whichever positions are needed most.

Lorens himself volunteers to fly escort, feeling more confident in his skills after his performance in defending the sky fleet.

Gus quietly slips around out of sight, checking to see if a door is unlocked or a window open on the three story office building's first floor.

Bell decides to go since Gus is one of the squadron's precious underlings. She sees Jakko waiting around.

: Are you sure you want to go? Flying and commanding is tough work, you should let Tippy go, she's a better shot than most of us.
