Author Topic: Unreal Engine out for Free  (Read 3614 times)

Java has ugly syntax in some cases and has a lot of things about it that makes it bad (Like having to use String.equals(String) instead of just using ==)
C# has almost all of those ugly syntaxes gone, has a ton of features added onto it to make programming easier, and most of the quirks that make Java bad are also gone

I know C# you silly person
I was pointing out one way that opinions can work for people

yay downloading now
add me skrubs im SECALE

Downloading it, I really want to play unreal tournament 4

C# is like Riddlers cousin
and java slept with Riddler
they are both languages used by neonational socialists

what did i just opennnnnnnnn

plus the UE4 source code is available for free
So you've got the source now. What will you do with it?

I assume you're a C++ programmer because I don't see how having somehing you can't use is important.

Source 2 is on the DB.
If this one goes free as well I'm throwing a loving nerd party.

EDIT

"We will be making Source 2 available for free to content developers. This combined with recent announcements by Epic and Unity will help continue the PCs dominance as the premiere content authoring platform."

NERD PARTY TIME!!!

Cascade.

Cascade has been there since UDK/Unreal 3. It's a very simple particle effects creator/editor (even though it looks quite complex). You simply apply different spawners to the base and set their properties. In Unreal 4, you can finally make GPU-accelerated particles, 3D model particles and a few other special types.

It's supposed to be easy for programmers, artists and designers to all be able to create particle effects. Part of the Unreal workflow is to allow designers and artists without programming experience to have the ability to create their own materials, level scripts, particles, physics models etc without all the complex background coding.

So you've got the source now. What will you do with it?

no, open-source is just better than closed-source

even if UE4 wasn't already better than Unity, and it was an even playing field, I'd choose Unreal over Unity just because of that

Don't fret, pie crust probably doesn't even code to begin with, and considering he's a compulsive liar I'd doubt anything he says.
Oh yeah
I'd almost forgotten about that whole "I'm a girl guys!!!!" lie

Please reffer to this post. Thank you for your time.

Here's some proof that I can code.

If you think this is shopped, here's the code. Compile it yourself.

Note: that K should be an N. :c It's hard to make an N with 3x5 pixels.

Blockland 2 made in Unreal Engine PROVED.

Blockland 2 made in Unreal Engine PROVED.

That would be cool. Probably would allow a lot more things like... vehicle physics?

badspot, re-release blockland in source 2

idk, the last blockland source didnt do too hot...
