Author Topic: Windows 10 Users will not have to pay to play Xbox Live Games Online  (Read 2805 times)

until steam machines, or like nvidia's new thingy came along. there was no competition.
consoles are nothing more then really stuffty computers, exploiting the fools who own them into paying out the ass for inferior products and services. and they are at fault for slowing down the entire video game industry. i hope the mini pc "consoles" overtake the market.

A slap in the face that ideally will turn some people away from consoles. :P
I doubt it.

I'm miffed about the whole thing, but I'm not gonna go and throw away my £300 console + games away because of it.
I also know I'm not smart enough (or interested enough) to spend the money to keep up with a computer that can play the games I like at a comfortable quality.

I won't be surprised if it pushes some people away however, when they know they could get the same/similar features on their PC without an additional middle-man fee.

Ultimately I would just like them to scrap the Xbox Live fees.
Or have them on PC too, even though that is the more wicked option.

and then I pay for services like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix, and then have to pay Xbox Live to get access to those services on my Xbox.

As a PC gamer I love this and makes me more hyped for the Windows 10 release, but as a former console gamer, that's gotta suck.

Oh look at that, I was actually correct.

Ahh, I wasn't sure if they had changed it or not. I'll forget that point for now.
They did however used to require to have an Xbox Live Gold account to use online services, like Sky Go, Netflix, Amazon Prime and even BBC iPlayer (which was a real kick in the teeth, because I pay the TV License for the right to view the BBC).

w-wow

brb switching to windows 10

But in all honesty I do think that console users are getting stabbed in the back here, but there isn't really a choice they can make without making someone angry.

Microsoft is in the middle of it all, trying to decide who to please.

no one should ever have had to pay to play a game multiplayer, or to use their already payed streaming services.

why you console people never questioned why you were doing it all along is the real question... fools.

i promise you maybe like 2 years from now. you will see fights online from steambox fanboys of 1 brand, fighting with steambox fanboys of another brand. about why their box can play games at higher specs then theirs.
when console people today dont even question why they are all low capped at stuff settings at all times regardless. lol
this is because sony and microsoft know the console days are coming closer to an end. with steam machines and other such steamOS devices. there is very little reason to own consoles.

Then why don't you make a stand protest the fact that they have to pay Microsoft to access your own internet that you are already paying for?

not only do we get to kick their ass we get to do it for free

Just to clear things up, I'm just feeling sympathetic towards console users here, I'm not with them. I honestly think this is actually pretty cool for us.

But Steam Machines and SteamOS are a loving joke. Have you seen that controller?

the trackpad is a real tactile control. its nothing like any laptop track you are imagining. its actually capable of playing a real shooter, with real accuracy. unlike stuffty console joystick shooters with thier silly lack luster strafing and autoaim assist.

the triggers are both brown townog AND digital controled to.

the steam pad is some real technology. its not some silly new pad with the same bullstuff we have had for the last 12 years.

Maybe you're right. It will be one of those things you have to get used to. But it's just so different, though...

EDIT: You know what, I take back my thoughts on the controller. I'm neutral with it until I can actually get my hands on it.

well for a shooter there is still no replacement for a kb and mouse. never will be.
This.

but many pc games use gamepads. and i would use the steam pad over some xbox controller any day.
